Inspired by “Jaime, Je n’aime pas – I like, I don’t like” by Roland Barthes, this is my version of what I like and what I don’t like.
I like: 70% dark chocolate, BTS, flea markets, sunsets on the beach, live jazz music, roses, pu-erh tea, train rides, Beurre Bosc pears, cherries, straight matcha, Rachmaninoff, escargots à la bourguignonne, The Christmas Song, bees wax tapered candles, farmers markets, Studio Ghibli films, writing with a fountain pen, glass water goblets, snowy landscapes, quiet nights cozied up in bed.
I don’t like: thunderstorms, wind blown messy hair, doomscrolling, loud and obnoxious people, saliva, dishwashers, carsickness, small talk, the current matcha hype, artificial flavours, online group chats, spontaneity, raw oysters, long fingernails, late nights out, waiting indefinitely for someone (and not knowing when they’ll arrive), insects and reptiles, office politics, greasy hand creams, missing the bus home (and waiting a long time for the next one).
